Reflection and Inspiration - 18th May 2005

"A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step"
- Lao Tzu
Lao Tzu is one of my favorite masters, though I know very little about him. I know most of what I know about him from Osho, who loves Lao Tzu.
This quote from Lao Tzu is a reminder to live in the present moment. Even if you plan to reach the stars, your journey starts from where you are right now. This moment is the only space where you can actually do something.
This quote is very unappealing to the ambitious mind. The mind would like to cover ten thousand miles in one stride. Lao Tzu asks us to take one step. However grand your vision, go step by step, with patience and the destination is there - just a step away!
Ever since I read this quote, on a board for advertising, this got stuck in my head. So simple, yet so profound - just like any Truth.
